Dinner concert features classical Indian music
Two touring musicians will present a dinner concert of classical Indian music Sunday at CenterStage.
Sitar player Gaurav Mazumdar, a renowned performer, composer and teacher, and up-and-coming tabla player Kuntal Roy will present the program.
Mazumdar, who has worked with such Western musicians as Philip Glass, was featured on violinist Daniel Hope’s Grammy-nominated “East Meets West” album in 2004 and was the first Indian musician to perform at the Vatican.
Dinner begins Sunday at 6 p.m. with the concert at 7:30 at CenterStage, 1017 W. First Ave.

Celtic at Westminster
A new concert series sponsored by Celtic Music Spokane kicks off Saturday at Westminster Congregational Church.
“Bountiful Harvest” will showcase local musicians including harpist Nancy Davis, folk singer Brian MacLeod and the popular acoustic group Celtic Nots.
