Cougars change course, take along two kickers

The Spokesman-Review

After insisting throughout fall camp that he would take only one kicker to Auburn, Washington State University coach Bill Doba reversed course Thursday and announced that he would take both Loren Langley and Romeen Abdollmohammadi on the trip.

Doba said he would see how the kickers perform in warm-ups and decide based on that who will kick in the game, although the job is apparently Langley’s to lose. Doba also declined to commit to either player on kickoffs, although it would appear that Langley has had the advantage there.

“Loren can do a lot of things well,” Doba said. “If he’s on, he’s our kicker. He’s got a lot of pop in that leg.”

Neither kicker has fared well this fall, but Langley has a vast edge in experience, having done almost all place-kicking for WSU in the last two seasons.
