It’s alpha and omega for Anna
The 20-year-old son of Anna Nicole Smith died while visiting his mother in the Bahamas hospital where she had just given birth to a baby girl.
Following Thursday’s birth, Daniel Wayne Smith arrived Saturday night in Nassau and went directly to the hospital, where he spent the night in his mother’s room, police said.
When she got up Sunday morning, she found him sitting in a chair and thought he was asleep.
“She tried to wake him up, he was unresponsive, and she sounded the alarm,” police said.
An autopsy is under way.
“We … do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor,” said a statement posted on Smith’s Web site.
“Anna Nicole is absolutely devastated by the loss of her son. He was her pride and joy and an amazing human being.”
Daniel Smith, the product of Smith’s two-year marriage in the mid-1980s, was featured in her 2002 reality TV show.
He never would’ve guessed
David Gest, the estranged husband of Liza Minnelli, wants a judge to set aside their prenuptial agreement – the latest development in their lengthy divorce battle.
His lawyers told the New York State Supreme Court that Minnelli hid the fact that she was infected with herpes, was an alcoholic and was prone to violence.
Gest has filed a $10 million lawsuit against Minnelli, saying she repeatedly beat him so badly that he suffered nerve damage. She has denied the claims.
One done Diddy
Sean Combs is Diddy no more – at least in Britain, anyway.
The rap mogul has agreed to drop the Diddy nickname there as part of an out-of court legal settlement with London-based music producer Richard “Diddy” Dearlove.
Said Dearlove: “I started getting e-mails from Puerto Rican girls asking if they could be in my video and people were asking me to look at their clothing line.”
Combs – formerly known as Puffy, Puff Daddy and P. Diddy – last year decided to be known solely as Diddy.
Bridget Jones’s diaper-y
The famously large underpants belonging to film character Bridget Jones will be auctioned off to raise cash for some of England’s most prominent parks.
The underwear worn by Renee Zellweger in “Bridget Jones’s Diary” – autographed by co-star Hugh Grant – will be sold at a charity dinner for Britain’s Royal Parks Foundation.
Two of the parks, Kensington Gardens and Regent’s Park, provided the setting for scenes in the second film in the series, “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.”
