With one game left in Week 2 of the NFL season, some teams are well on their way to posting significant numbers and others would just as soon go back and start all over.

Here’s some examples:

“Defense: Baltimore has not allowed a touchdown, with Oakland’s Sebastian Janikowski the only player to score against the Ravens – he had two field goals in Baltimore’s 28-6 win over Oakland on Sunday. Baltimore’s six points allowed is one less than Chicago, which has allowed 7 (Bears 34, Lions 7 on Sunday). Atlanta has allowed nine points and Seattle has allowed 16.

“No offense: Tampa Bay has scored three points in two games and Oakland has six. Detroit has one touchdown.

Hurricanes wiped out

Buh bye, Miami.

The football powerhouse is out of the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time since 1999 after a lopsided 31-7 loss to Louisville. That ends the Hurricanes’ streak of 107 straight poll appearances.

Here’s some perspective on Miami’s run:

“Miami dropped out of the poll Nov. 14, 1999, one day after a 43-10 loss at Virginia Tech. The Hurricanes returned two weeks later at No. 23.

“Miami spent 88 of those 107 weeks ranked among the nation’s top 10, including 34 weeks as the nation’s No. 1 team.

Anti-doping

No drugs allowed

Barbados is setting up a satellite laboratory of the World Anti-Doping Agency to perform drug tests for next year’s big event, the World Cup of cricket.

“We have sought to have a WADA-accredited lab to use here as a satellite lab,” Dr. Adrian Lorde, chief of the Caribbean Regional Anti- Doping Organization, said.
