Riverview work to begin soon

Nils Rosdahl Correspondent

Views of the Spokane River and Lake Coeur d’Alene and an easy-access location to Interstate 90 and downtown Coeur d’Alene are the major amenities of the Riverview Building. Construction should start soon on the four-story structure at 2100 Northwest Blvd., uphill from Coldwell Banker Realty.

Each floor is about 11,000 square feet, with office suites available from 700 square feet to an entire floor. Downsized from its original five-story plan and now only including office suites, the building will have parking in the basement level and a deck off the first floor. Views are to the west down the river and to the south as far as Cougar Bay. Construction will be of brick and reflective glass on the 2.5-acre parcel.

Magnuson McHugh & Co. CPAs will occupy the top floor. The 55-year-old accounting firm will move from its building at 1121 Mullan Ave. in December 2007. Currently the growing company has 35 employees, including 14 accountants. It has been in its 8,500-square-foot building since 1980. Its Web site is www.mmcocpa.com.

Parkwood Business Properties of Coeur d’Alene will own both buildings. For occupancy information contact Jim Koon of Coldwell Banker at (208) 665-1203.

River City Center fills

Spaces are filling in River City Center, a double mini-mall plus building pads under construction in the northeast corner of Highway 41 and Mullan Road in Post Falls. A car and dog wash business is already in operation there.

Anytime Fitness will occupy 4,227 square feet in the southern mini-mall. It will offer an assortment of exercise equipment, including complete power and free weights and cardio machines. Trainers and nutrition information will be available in the 24-hour facility.

“Our goal is to be open in the second week of October,” said owner Daniel Briggs. He also plans to put stores in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene.

The four-year-old company has more than 500 outlets, with its headquarters in St. Paul, Minn. It is the country’s second-largest chain fitness center. Check www.anytimefitness.com.

Paddy’s Sports Bar also plans to expand from its Coeur d’Alene location into the new mall. Construction will start soon on the second mini-mall. Developer is John Hansen of Caymus Development. Phone (208) 660-7545.

“ The great weather has extended yard-sale season. Here are a few signing clues: Don’t put any actual day on the sign; people won’t come Saturday if the sign says Fri-Sat because the good stuff is gone. Have the print be big enough and dark enough to read. Put the starting time on the sign. Start the sale early enough so people on their way to work Friday can attend. Take signs down when it’s over.
