Yankees 16, Orioles 5: At New York, Jason Giambi, Bobby Abreu, Jorge Posada, Johnny Damon and Robinson Cano all homered in a rout of Baltimore. Chien-Ming Wang (19-6) tied Johan Santana for the major league lead in wins.
Blue Jays 7, Tigers 4: At Detroit, Ted Lilly pitched six strong innings and Toronto hit four home runs in a victory over the Tigers, but Detroit held on to its one-game lead over Minnesota in the A.L. Central.
White Sox 2, Indians 1 (8): At Cleveland, Brandon McCarthy struck out eight in his first start in more than four months to help Chicago to a rain-shortened win over the Indians. McCarthy (4-7) allowed one run, two hits and walked one over 5 1/3 innings.
Devil Rays 11, Red Sox 0: At Boston, Tim Corcoran allowed four hits over 6 2/3 innings and Rocco Baldelli hit a three-run homer during a nine-run seventh to lead Tampa Bay to a rare road win over the Red Sox.
Angels 6, Rangers 5: At Anaheim, Tim Salmon, playing out the final week of his major league career, hit his 299th home run and Howie Kendrick drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning to lead Los Angeles over Texas.
