Nice to have ‘Jack’ back

When I heard coach Ray Giacoletti was going to be an assistant coach at Gonzaga, I was happy coach “Jack” was back in the state of Washington, but unfortunately with the wrong team.

When I rushed the court after the Eagles won the Big Sky tournament in 2004 and earned their first automatic bid to the Big Dance, it was a great time to be an Eagle.

I know it has only been three years for coach Mike Burns, and Eastern should not pull a University of Utah and fire him before he gets a chance to coach the players he recruited. I do think, however, that Burns is on the hot seat and if he doesn’t start winning soon, it might be time to hand the reigns back over to the coach who brought excitement to the men’s basketball program.
