Seahawks go back to Gray
Spurned by their primary offseason target for bolstering the offensive line, the Seattle Seahawks are instead bringing back veteran guard Chris Gray.
Gray, who turns 37 in June, will be starting his 15th season – 10th with the Seahawks. His team record of 121 consecutive starts ended last Dec. 31 in the regular season finale because of a bruised right quadriceps, but he returned to start both playoff games in January.
He will get a two-year contract worth $2.1 million in base salary plus bonuses.
The Seahawks were close to signing San Diego guard Kris Dielman early last month. But Dielman heeded constant calls from Chargers teammates to stay with the defending AFC West champions.

Fired UW coach visits Cougars
Former Washington coach June Daugherty was in Pullman on Monday and booked at a local hotel after meeting with members of the Washington State athletic department about the open women’s head coaching job.
Daugherty visited the school with her husband, Mike, who served as an assistant coach during her 11 seasons with the Huskies, a tenure that included nine postseason appearances. She was fired after UW lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament in March.
The Cougars, meanwhile, have finished in the Pac-10 cellar seven of the last eight seasons, including four times in five years under Sherri Murrell, who resigned this month.
Daugherty did not return a phone message left at her hotel and athletic director Jim Sterk also did not return a message seeking a comment.
