Red Sox 7, Yankees 6: At Boston, Alex Rodriguez hit two more homers for 12 this season, but Coco Crisp tied the game with a two-run triple and then scored on Alex Cora’s blooper during a five-run eighth inning to help Boston pull off a comeback win. New York’s Mariano Rivera (1-2) allowed two runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning and saw his ERA rise to 8.44.

Indians 4, Devil Rays 3: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Travis Hafner hit a two-run homer and drove in the go-ahead run on a ninth-inning single to help Cleveland beat Tampa Bay. Hafner went 3 for 3 with two walks. He has 11 hits in his last 15 at-bats.

Orioles 5, Blue Jays 4: At Baltimore, Nick Markakis singled in the winning run in the ninth to cap a rally against Toronto. The Orioles trailed 4-2 in the eighth but battered Toronto’s beleaguered bullpen.

Athletics 16, Rangers 4: At Arlington, Texas, rookie Travis Buck hit his first homer and drove in a career-high five runs to help Oakland stretch its win streak to four games. Buck added a three-run double, and Bobby Crosby doubled in two more in an eight-run second.

Royals 11, Twins 7: At Kansas City, Mo., Mark Grudzielanek’s home run keyed a five-run fifth and carried Kansas City to a come-from-behind victory over Minnesota. Mike Sweeney and Reggie Sanders also homered for KC.
