Christmas Tree Elegance shines brightly on Davenport’s stage
Like any silver anniversary party, the 25th annual Christmas Tree Elegance shone bright.
In addition to the exquisite trees on display, there were other activities that caught the holiday lights.
Lunch with style
Four luncheons, highlighted by a style show featuring fashions by Macy’s, drew sellout crowds of well-dressed women – and a few men – to the Grand Pennington Ballroom.
Men, women, children and one gorgeous puppy, modeled everything from glittering evening wear to the latest in sportswear strolled down the runway. In a show-stopping highlight, one couple did a sexy tango to the accompaniment of a Latin beat.
The popular event was produced by PJ & Co. Models Agency.
Gala Evening
When more than 300 partygoers showed up for the annual Christmas Tree Elegance Gala Dinner Dance in the grand ballroom, they were met with a champagne reception.
Glass in hand, after purchasing raffle tickets for the elaborately decorated and accessorized trees displayed on the mezzanine, diners strolled, chatted and dropped tickets in the large boxes beside each tree.
After the gourmet meal, and the raffle of the Gala Tree which was available to partygoers only, Stagecoach West provided music for dancing.
Christmas Tree Elegance is staged each year by volunteers from the Symphony Associates and is a major fundraiser for the Spokane Symphony. It’s a big part of Spokane’s holiday season and draws visitors from all corners of the region.
This year’s event, from start to beautiful finish, was one of the best.
