Around the WAC

The Spokesman-Review

Idaho is 0-5 when leading at halftime. … Vandals junior forward Darin Nagle, who became eligible in December, is second in the WAC in blocked shots (2.42 per game). In 15 games, he has 32 blocks, just two away from cracking Idaho’s single-season top 10. Deon Watson blocked 34 shots in 1993-94. … The Vandals are locked into the No. 9 seed-vs.-No. 8 game that will open the WAC tournament March 6 in Las Cruces. Idaho will probably face San Jose State with the winner taking on the top seed (likely Nevada). … Only two WAC teams have a .500 or better record on the road: Nevada (8-1) and New Mexico State (6-6). … Nevada seniors Kyle Shiloh and Nick Fazekas have been part of 99 career wins, most in team history. … Utah State is 13-0 when Jaycee Carroll scores at least 20 points. Carroll scored 44 against New Mexico State and 28 against Idaho last week, earning WAC player of the week honors.
