(n.) Spam sent over instant messaging (IM). A near-cousin is spit, or spam over Internet Telephony, or VoIP. Spammers are using spim in mobile text-messaging and Web-based instant messaging, especially at social-network sites like MySpace.com, according to mail services company MessageLabs.
