Holmgren has Hall resume
Just about every pro football pundit is positive the Dallas Cowboys’ Bill Parcells is headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame when he retires – for good.
With Parcell’s Cowboys coming to Seattle on Saturday for a NFC wild-card playoff game, online columnist Vince Grippi wonders “is Mike Holmgren’s resume sufficiently filled to deserve a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame?”

Johnson headed back to desert
The New York Yankees reached a tentative agreement with Arizona to trade pitcher Randy Johnson to Arizona for reliever Luis Vizcaino and three minor leaguers.
Arizona general manager Josh Byrnes confirmed what he called “an agreement in principle” but did not identify the other players.
In addition to the players, the Yankees would pay $2 million of Johnson’s $16 million salary this year.
The teams must finalize the trade by 2 p.m. PST Sunday.

Rosenbach a finalist at CWU
Central Washington University has identified four finalists for the head football coaching position at the school.
Washington State assistant Timm Rosenbach and Eastern Washington assistant Beau Baldwin join CWU defensive coordinator John Graham and Missouri assistant Bruce Walker as the four finalists to replace John Zamberlin.
Baldwin, 34, spent seven seasons as a member of CWU’s coaching staff before moving to Eastern for the 2003 season. Rosenbach, 40, has spent the past four seasons as quarterbacks coach at Washington State. Rosenbach is also a former EWU assistant.

Whits tight end in Shrine game
Whitworth record-setting tight end Michael Allan has accepted an invitation to the 2007 NFL Combine and the East-West Shrine game in Houston. Allan has withdrawn from the Hula Bowl.
He is the only NCAA Division III player invited to the NFL Combine, which brings together staffs from all 32 NFL teams to evaluate players eligible for the NFL draft.
