Brewers 13, Cubs 4: At Chicago, Milwaukee scored nine runs in the first three innings to rout the Cubs. Ryan Braun went 4 for 5 with four RBIs for the Brewers.

Mets 8, Phillies 3: At Philadelphia, Carlos Beltran homered twice for the second straight game, leading New York over the Phillies. Paul Lo Duca and David Wright also connected for the Mets.

Pirates 7, Nationals 2: At Pittsburgh, Tom Gorzelanny limited Washington to two runs over 7 1/3 innings, and Adam LaRoche drove in three runs in the Pirates’ victory over the Nationals.

Rockies 5, Astros 0: At Houston, Jeff Francis allowed three hits in seven innings and Colorado beat the Astros. Garrett Atkins drove in two runs for the Rockies.

Reds 5, Cardinals 1: At Cincinnati, the Reds scored three runs on a single, three walks, a hit batter and a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning to rally over St. Louis.

Braves 6, Marlins 5: At Miami, Tim Hudson pitched seven sharp innings, Edgar Renteria hit a tiebreaking double in the eighth and Atlanta beat Florida. Hudson gave up one run and seven hits.

Giants 4, Diamondbacks 1: At San Francisco, Barry Bonds barely missed home run No. 751 and settled for an RBI double and also walked three times in the Giants’ win over Arizona.

Padres 3, Dodgers 1 (12): At Los Angeles, Jake Peavy and Brad Penny pitched to a seven-inning stalemate, Jose Cruz Jr. and pinch-hitter Geoff Blum hit RBI doubles in the 12th, and San Diego beat the Dodgers.
