Pasadena Park players remain undefeated

Seven games into a 12-game Spokane Valley Baseball League schedule, Midget Division team Jim Frazier Pro and Trophy Shop remains perfect.

The Pasadena Park team outscored two opponents, 52-7, including a win over third-place Conley’s Place.

Brady Bergman went 5 for 6 with a home run and a triple, scored six runs and drove in four. Austin Luhn went 6 for 6, hit two doubles and scored five times and was 8 for 11 for the week with seven runs driven in.

Sunrise remained a game behind. The two teams will meet again July 19.

Conley’s, from South Pines, won its other game of the week, 12-10, over Autocraft as Miceal Taylor struck out 11 batters and hit a three-run home run. Keith Olson hit a two-run triple.

Midget teams are taking the week off and will return to competition Tuesday.

Pee Wee League: Spokane Athletic Supply, in the National Division, improved to 7-0 with a pair of wins last week. Spokane County Deputy Sheriffs Association leads the American Division at 5-0 with two games to make up.

SAS, from Otis Orchards, was busy, winning 13-0 and 16-7 over the Spokane Indians on a Friday and Monday, then winning 7-3 over Valley Instant Printing two days later.

The Deputy Sheriffs Association, from Summit, won 17-2 over River City Pizza in its only game, thanks to a 10-run third inning.

Daniel Dach hit three home runs and also pitched, striking out eight. Andy Jackson went 3 for 3 with two doubles and a triple.

Pizza Hut, from Greenacres, remained a game behind in the loss column with a 16-2 win over Wells Fargo. Ethan Frazier had eight strikeouts and went 2 for 4, including a home run. Josh Quartararo was 3 for 4.

Three teams trail Spokane Athletic Supply by a game in the National Division.

Blasingame Insurance, from Pasadena Park, created the logjam with a comeback 7-6 win to hand Mark Spear Homeselling its initial setback.

Ross Vermillion stole home in the bottom of the sixth for the win, capping a two-run inning and rally from a 6-3 deficit. Michael Chan struck out seven during his three-inning pitching stint.

During a two-week period when White Elephant (Adams) won three of four games, Matt Harris had a 7-for-7 stretch and added two more hits in three of the games. Included were three home runs, one a grand slam, three doubles and 12 runs batted in.

Other highlights included Justen Sather‘s two home-run effort in the George Velis DDS-McDonald’s game, won by George Velis, 8-5. Kenny Reynolds went 3 for 4 with six RBIs for Grocery Outlet. Angelo Silva was 3 for 4 and drove in three runs, and pitcher Josh Hager threw three hitless innings and had two hits of his own, including a triple, for Wells Fargo Bank.
