Diamondbacks 5, Mets 1: At New York, Brandon Webb dominated a makeshift New York lineup, limiting the Mets to four hits and pitching Arizona to its eighth consecutive victory.

Dodgers 5, Pirates 4: At Pittsburgh, Russell Martin homered for the third consecutive game and Los Angeles won with its hitting rather than its pitching for a change.

Nationals 4, Padres 3 (10): At Washington, pinch-hitter Ronnie Belliard singled home Cristian Guzman in the 10th inning to lift Washington past San Diego.

Giants 13, Phillies 0: At Philadelphia, Matt Morris allowed only a single over six innings and had a career-best three hits to lead San Francisco to a victory over Philadelphia.

Brewers 8, Marlins 4: At Milwaukee, Ryan Braun, playing his eighth game in the majors, homered, doubled and singled to lead Milwaukee to a victory over Florida. Kevin Mench had four RBIs for Milwaukee.

Cardinals 8, Astros 1: At Houston, Juan Encarnacion and Gary Bennett hit their first homers of the season on consecutive pitches in St. Louis’ seven-run ninth inning to lift the Cardinals to a victory over struggling Houston.

Reds 4, Rockies 2: At Denver, Ken Griffey Jr. hit career home run No. 575 and Bobby Livingston allowed seven hits in 6 2/3 innings for his first major league win as Cincinnati beat Colorado.
