Braves 5, Indians 4: At Cleveland, Yunel Escobar’s two-run double in the ninth inning gave Atlanta a win over the Indians. Casey Blake increased his hitting streak to 24 games with a tiebreaking homer in the eighth for Cleveland.

Blue Jays 7, Nationals 2: At Toronto, Troy Glaus and Adam Lind homered as the Blue Jays beat Washington. Roy Halladay gave up two runs on seven hits over 7 1/3 innings, striking out six for Toronto.

Mets 2, Yankees 0: At New York, Oliver Perez outdueled Roger Clemens, giving the visiting Mets a win over the Yankees. Perez limited the Yankees to five hits in 7 1/3 innings. Clemens allowed two runs, seven hits and one walk, with eight strikeouts.

Red Sox 10, Giants 2: At Boston, Dustin Pedroia had a career-high five RBIs, and J.D. Drew had three hits as the Red Sox defeated San Francisco.

Diamondbacks 7, Orioles 3: At Baltimore, pinch-hitter Orlando Hudson homered with two on to cap a five-run eighth inning, and Arizona rallied to beat the Orioles.

Rangers 7, Reds 6: At Cincinnati, Sammy Sosa hit a grand slam for his 599th career homer to lead Texas to a victory over the Reds. Eric Gagne retired the side in the ninth for his seventh save.

Tigers 12, Phillies 8: At Philadelphia, Ivan Rodriguez drove in five runs and Sean Casey had four hits and three RBIs to help Jeremy Bonderman (7-0) stay unbeaten in Detroit’s win over the Phillies.

Royals 6, Marlins 2: At Kansas City, Mo., Mike Sweeney, after Florida deliberately loaded the bases to pitch to him, delivered a three-run double and Kansas City beat the Marlins.

Brewers 11, Twins 3: At Minneapolis, Geoff Jenkins hit a grand slam and Prince Fielder added a two-run shot to power Milwaukee past Minnesota.

Rockies 12, Devil Rays 2: At Denver, Garrett Atkins and Brad Hawpe hit back-to-back homers in the first and Colorado routed Tampa Bay. Matt Holliday had two doubles, a single and four RBIs for Colorado.

Dodgers 2, Angels 1: At Los Angeles, Derek Lowe allowed one run over seven innings and had a career-high 11 strikeouts, leading the Dodgers over the Angels. Lowe allowed four hits and walked one.

Athletics 14, Cardinals 3: At Oakland, Calif., every Oakland starter had at least one hit in a win against St. Louis. All but Bobby Crosby scored at least one run.

Pirates 4, White Sox 2: At Pittsburgh, Paul Maholm pitched seven innings of three-hit ball and the Pirates handed Chicago its ninth loss in 10 games.
