New Salvation Army donation centers opens

The Spokesman-Review

The Salvation Army has opened new donation centers in Spokane Valley and Coeur d’Alene.

Both locations are in Fred Meyer store parking lots, 15609 E. Sprague Ave. in Spokane Valley and 560 W. Kathleen in Coeur d’Alene. The main donation center is at 2020 N. Division St. in Spokane.

“Our goal in opening these new donation centers is to both provide convenient locations for people to give and to generate more donations,” said Salvation Army Thrift Store Manager Anna Moran. “Lately we have really been hurting for clothing donations.”

The Thrift Store partners with the Family Services office by providing vouchers to those in need. The new donation centers will be staffed seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with extended hours to 8 p.m. during the summer. All donations of new and lightly used clothing, furniture, electronics, household items and media will be accepted. Items not selected by families in need through the Family Services office are sold in the thrift store. All proceeds from thrift store sales go to support Salvation Army programs. For more information on how to donate, call (509) 325-6805.
