Wade’s return unknown after two weeks

Associated Press The Spokesman-Review

Dwyane Wade sat before a bank of microphones March 5, saying he would need at least two weeks of rehabilitating his dislocated left shoulder before deciding whether to return to the Miami Heat this season.

It’s been two weeks. Still, no one knows for sure when the NBA Finals MVP will be back.

And if a timetable exists, Wade isn’t saying just yet.

“Physically, I’m doing good,” Wade said Monday. “I’ve been working out every day and doing what they’re telling me to do. So I’m doing all right.”

Randolph takes leave

Trail Blazers forward Zach Randolph was granted a bereavement leave and will miss Portland’s next game.

The team did not disclose details of Randolph’s situation.

On the court

Hawks 99, Kings 76: At Atlanta, Josh Childress scored a season-high 25 points and Zaza Pachulia had 23 to help the Hawks to their biggest romp this season, extending their home winning streak to five games.

Sacramento, led by Corliss Williamson’s 14 points, dropped to 1-6 since ending a four-game winning streak on March 6 against Indiana.

Hornets 106, Celtics 88: At Oklahoma City, Tyson Chandler had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and New Orleans bounced back after Boston’s quick start to overwhelm the Celtics.

The Celtics couldn’t miss at the start, but then had only nine points in the second quarter – their lowest total in a quarter this season – as the Hornets took control.

Boston used a 17-5 run to open a 19-12 lead after Paul Pierce’s second 3-pointer in the first 5 minutes. Pierce also had a three-point play as the Celtics hit their first nine shots.
