NBA :Mavericks tackle Cavaliers despite James’ 31
Dirk Nowitzki scored 23 points and Jason Terry added 21 to help the Dallas Mavericks beat the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time this month, 98-90 Wednesday night in Cleveland.
LeBron James had a tough night shooting. He finished with 31 points but was 12 for 28 shooting as he single-handedly tried to carry his team.
Heat 91, Hawks 83: At Atlanta, Jason Williams had 21 points and eight assists, and Miami beat Atlanta for its 10th victory in 11 games.
Josh Smith scored 27 points for Atlanta, which had its five-game home winning streak snapped.
Spurs 90, Pacers 72: At San Antonio, Tim Duncan scored 27 points to lead San Antonio to a victory over Indiana.
Francisco Elson had 14 points and Tony Parker and Matt Bonner contributed 10 apiece for the Spurs.
Clippers 104, Bucks 103: At Milwaukee, Elton Brand tipped in a shot with 3 seconds left to give Los Angeles a victory over Milwaukee.
Jason Hart missed a shot along the baseline that bounced on the side of the rim before Brand tipped it in.
Raptors 92, Magic 85: At Toronto, Chris Bosh had 34 points and 16 rebounds in outplaying fellow All-Star big man Dwight Howard in Toronto’s victory over Orlando.
Bobcats 92, Celtics 84: At Boston, Raymond Felton had 19 points, five assists and three steals, and Charlotte used an 18-0 run to overcome a double-digit deficit for the second consecutive night and beat Boston.
Timberwolves 95, Kings 89: At Sacramento, Calif., Randy Foye scored 24 points, and Kevin Garnett had 17 points and 18 rebounds to put Minnesota over Sacramento.

Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest faces four misdemeanor charges stemming from a dispute with his wife at home earlier this month. … Toronto Raptors forward Andrea Bargnani had an appendectomy, and is expected to be released from a hospital in the next few days.
