People: Oh, the shear excitement

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

Imagine The Donald – without the hair.

It could become reality, thanks to World Wrestling Entertainment’s Vince McMahon.

On Sunday, he and Donald Trump will each have a wrestler compete on their behalf in the “Battle of the Billionaires” at WrestleMania 23 in Detroit – the WWE’s biggest annual pay-per-view event.

If Umaga beats Bobby Lashley, McMahon will take the clippers to Trump’s top. If Lashley wins, McMahon gets his.

Trump, the real estate mogul and star of NBC’s “The Apprentice,” knows his ‘do isn’t popular with some fans.

“A lot of people want to see it shaved,” he admits. “I do get criticized, there’s no question about it, although I’ve never had any problem with it. It certainly has seemed to work.”

Says McMahon: “Hopefully, I have really dull scissors so I can yank the rest of it out that I can’t cut. But I may be surprised how much Mother Nature has already beaten me to the punch. I won’t know that until I start cutting.”

Speaking of close shaves …

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have reached a settlement in their divorce, a spokesman for Federline’s attorney said.

After a five-hour meeting with their attorneys present, the couple signed “a global settlement on all issues of their marriage,” the spokesman said, declining to divulge details.

During her recent rehab stint, following a lost weekend where she infamously shaved her head, Spears temporarily shared joint custody of their two young sons with Federline.

Paris doing spring time?

Los Angeles prosecutors are asking a judge to revoke Paris Hilton‘s probation in a reckless driving case, which could lead to a jail term.

The decision followed an investigation into whether the hotel heiress and reality star violated terms of her probation by driving last month with a suspended license.

Hilton could face up to 90 days in jail. A hearing has been set for April 17.

A day after Jennifer Lopez went back to her old digs in the Bronx to sign autographs in support of her first Spanish-language album, the nation’s top Latin music chain accused her of forgetting her roots.

Ritmo Latino banned all J.Lo CDs from its 50 stores Thursday, complaining that she “has refused personally to promote her new CD in any of our stores” and won’t appear at other outlets devoted solely to Latin music.

There she goes …

The Miss America Pageant has been dropped by Country Music Television, leaving the 86-year-old competition without a TV home for the second time in three years.

CMT cited the network’s focus on original programming, not ratings, for the decision.

The January crowning of Miss Oklahoma Lauren Nelson as Miss America drew 2.4 million viewers.
