Meet your Neighbor

Carl Gidlund Correspondent

Name: Becky Anderson

Age: “I’d rather not say.”

Hometown: I was born and raised in Fargo, N.D., but I’ve lived in North Idaho for 27 years.

Occupation: I’m the art teacher at Lake City High School.

Family: My husband, Jerry, and I have three sons. Rex is 27 and lives in Seattle; Troy, 23, is in Boise and our youngest Tucker, is 17 and still at home.

Hobbies: Fishing and artwork. That includes silk painting on scarves. And I made six stained-glass windows for Trinity Lutheran Church. They were sponsored by five families in our church.

What do you like about North Idaho? We like camping and fishing, especially on Pend Oreille and Priest lakes.

What do you like or dislike about the current season? Spring is my favorite time of year. We live on five acres, and I love gardening, especially growing roses. We use an old batting cage to keep the deer away from the roses.

Favorite music: All kinds, including rock ‘n’ roll, classical and Fleetwood Mac.

Favorite TV show: I don’t watch television much, but I guess I’d have to say the “CSI” shows and “Boston Legal.”

Favorite movie: “Under the Tuscan Sun.” But I also like romantic comedies and old classics.

Favorite spot in North Idaho? Why? We really enjoy both Lake Pend Oreille and Priest Lake. They’re pretty and peaceful, and the fishing is good.
