Certainly one easy way is to go through the iTunes Store ( www.store.apple.com) and subscribe to any podcast you find. You can have practically an unlimited number of different podcast subscriptions. The number you can transfer to your iPod or other device will vary based on the free space you have.

Software programs other than iTunes also perform this updating. Whichever application you use, the steps are generally the same.

In iTunes, you update podcasts by first making sure you’ve changed the update setting. Load iTunes, go to Edit, then Preferences, then Podcasts. At that point you have choices covering how often your program checks for new content, and what to do if it finds it.

A nice simple setting is to have iTunes check for new podcasts every day, then choose download for the most recent one. The only concern is previously downloaded episodes will remain on the device or in your computer unless you manually delete them.
