Call for artists

Colfax Arts Council – Artists are needed for a juried competition to select 10 original paintings to be hung in Colfax as lamppost banners. Artists must submit a 7 1/2-by-15-inch painting or a design on 11-by-17-inch paper or other medium by Nov. 15. The fee is $10 for youth and $15 for adults 19 and older. Winter Solstice Festival – The Moscow Arts Commission is looking for artists for the seventh annual Winter Solstice Festival scheduled Dec. 14-Feb. 1 at the Third Street Gallery in Moscow. Original works in all mediums interpreting the winter season will be accepted. Artists must submit a photo or slide of each entry (no more than three) plus an artist statement and small biography. Spokane Ag Expo Photography Contest – Photographers are invited to submit photos depicting “Agriculture in the Inland Northwest.” The photos will be displayed at the Spokane Ag Expo set for Feb. 5-7. Photographers may submit color or black-and-white prints between 8-by-10 and 11-by-14 inches. Photographs should not be framed but may be mounted on cardboard or matting. Pottery Place Plus – Applications are being accepted from fine craft artists in any medium for one temporary and one permanent membership. Applications are also being accepted for the monthly guest artist program. Call (509) 220-5706 for an application.
