Hints from Heloise

The Spokesman-Review

Dear Readers: Here are two great hints from M. Noble of Port Charlotte, Fla.:

•I painted the handle white on my bathroom plunger and stack rolls of bathroom tissues on it, making both tissues and plunger handy when needed. It also leaves space in the cupboard for something else.

•I put foil pie tins upside down over stove burners to keep unused burners clear of spatters when frying something.

Dear Heloise: I read your hint today about using tape when trying to hook a difficult bracelet. If tape isn’t readily available, a rubber band (especially an elastic hair band) can also do the trick. Place the band around your wrist and over the bracelet to hold the end in place while you hook it. I use this trick because I always wear a hair band on my wrist – just in case I need a ponytail quickly. – Kelly from Virginia
