NEW FACES Adam Forney has been hired by DCI Engineers in the Civil CAD department. He holds a degree in computer aided drafting and design from Spokane Community College.

Nathaniel Messick has been hired as a staff accountant at McDirmid Mikkelsen & Secrest. He holds a degree in professional accounting/finance from Corbin College.

Registered nurse Mary Sheridan has been hired as a certified physician assistant by the Rockwood Clinic Internal Medicine Group. She holds a nursing degree from the Regional Hospital School of Nursing in Rapid City, S.D., and completed a physician assistant program at the University of North Dakota. She previously worked for the Spine Center in Rapid City.

Coffman Engineers has hired Darrel Morman as a mechanical drafter. He is a graduate of ITT Technical Institute.

Daniel Atha has been hired as a survey coordinator at Storhaug Engineering. He holds a degree in drafting and surveying from North Idaho College.

Tina Johansen has been hired by ALSC Architects as an interior designer. She holds a master’s degree in interior design from Washington State University. She previously was an assistant professor of interior design at WSU.

Dr. Gretchen LaSalle has been hired at Rockwood Clinic Moran Prairie in the practice of family medicine. She holds a medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland.

Kristina Bartlett has been hired as a buyer’s agent by Spokane Home Buyers.

Wells Fargo Home Mortgage has hired Beverly Wasson as a reverse mortgage consultant at its Spokane Valley office.

Jamie Gebhardt has been hired as a senior accountant at HollisterStier Laboratories. He holds a degree in accounting from Western Washington University and previously worked for Isilon Systems of Seattle.

Sonja Davila has been hired by St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute of Spokane as the spinal cord injury ortho nurse manager. She previously worked at the Spokane Veteran’s Administration Medical Center.

Kiemle & Hagood Company’s Brokerage Division has hired Marc Mowrer as a sales associate. He is a licensed Realtor.

Eric Belanger has been hired by the Orthopaedic Specialty Clinic of Spokane as a certified physician assistant. He is a graduate of Idaho State University.

Taylor Engineering has hired Ed Davis as a survey manager. He has more than 30 years experience and is licensed in Washington, Idaho and Nevada.

KUDOS Sherry Brophy of Payne Financial Group recently received the American Association of General Agents Award. The award is given to a member that contributes significantly to the National Association of Insurance Women. She is the president of the Spokane chapter.

Dr. Jeffrey Bunn recently received the “Heroes of Healthcare” award from Project Access in recognition of his work with uninsured patients. He has been in the practice of otolaryngology at the Spokane Ear Nose and Throat Clinic for five years.

Dr. Harold Goldberg was recently named the 2006 Physician/Citizen of the Year award by the Spokane County Medical Society. He is a practicing cardiologist at Spokane Cardiology. He was recognized for his compassion and diligence.

Coralie Myers of Wheatland Bank recently received the “Unsung Hero” award from the Inland Northwest Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners in recognition of her behind-the-scenes work.

Several local health care providers have received grants from the Washington Health Information Collaborative to help them adopt information technology to improve patient care. The recipients include: Dr. Gordon Decker of Spokane; Family Medicine Newport; Family Health Center Newport; Family Health Center of Sandpoint; Dirne Community Health Center in Coeur d’Alene; Northeast Washington Health Programs of Chewelah; St. Mary’s Hospital in Kendrick, Idaho; and Rapid Clinics of Spokane Valley.

Marcia Ostrom, an associate professor at Washington State University, was recently given the 2007 Western Regional Excellence in Extension Award by the National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges. She is the director of the WSU Small Farms Program and a member of the Community and Rural Sociology Department.

The Clearwater Summit Group has received a Grand Award for the landscape design and build of the Hemmings residence in the 38th annual Environmental Improvement Awards Program sponsored by the Professional Landscape Network.

ELECTED Glen Campbell of Spokane has been elected to the board of directors for the Washington Association of Mortgage Brokers. He is the owner of Empire Home Loans.
