Beulah Veronica George

Beulah Veronica George is celebrating her 100th birthday today. She was born in Washburn, N.D., on Nov. 29, 1907. She has lived in Eastern Washington for 35 years.

George met her husband Raymond Geissler in Odessa, Wash., and they were married in 1938. He died in 1960.

George has had a number of professions, beginning with a grade school teacher, a church nursery coordinator, and a Seattle Art Museum docent.

She attributes living a long and healthy life to healthy eating and a cheerful, positive attitude.

When asked what her most memorable moment in her past 100 years has been, George replied helping building ships in World War II in Tacoma.
