NHL: Red Wings edge Ducks

Jiri Hudler scored and Dominik Hasek made three saves in a shootout, lifting the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night in Detroit in a rematch of the Western Conference finals.

Anaheim’s Todd Bertuzzi scored and set up a go-ahead goal late in the second period for the defending Stanley Cup champions against his former team, but the Red Wings tied it at 2 early in the third.

Tomas Holmstrom tied the game on a power-play goal off a cross-crease assist from Henrik Zetterberg, who had scored midway through the first period.

Senators 4, Maple Leafs 3 (OT): Dany Heatley scored his second goal of the game 2:57 into overtime to give Ottawa a victory over Toronto in Toronto.

Canadiens 3, Hurricanes 2 (OT): Saku Koivu scored his second power-play goal of the game 1:05 into overtime to lift Montreal over Carolina in Raleigh, N.C.

Avalanche 4, Stars 3: Paul Stastny had his first career hat trick, Andrew Brunette had three assists and Jaroslav Hlinka added two assists as Colorado held off Dallas in Denver.
