Prep Roundup: Tigers pounce on Pirates
Connor Halliday threw for three touchdowns and Alexander Shaw and Levi Taylor each ran for two scores as Lewis and Clark took over sole possession of second place in the Greater Spokane League football standings with a 46-6 rout of Rogers Thursday at Joe Albi Stadium.
Shaw opened the scoring for the Tigers with a 4-yard run in the first quarter and scored again on a 61-yard gallop in the third that put LC up 27-0.
Jacob Partridge caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Durant in the fourth to put the Pirates on the scoreboard.
With the win, the Tigers improved to 5-1 in the GSL, while Rogers fell to 0-5.
LC stands in second place, right behind Ferris (4-0).

Jenna Canter had a match-high 10 kills and Jordan Hoffnagle handed out 17 assists as Mt. Spokane (6-2) defeated host East Valley 25-21, 25-18, 25-19 in the Greater Spokane League. Kelsey Kurtz had 19 assists and 14 digs to lead the Knights (5-2). … Elsewhere in the league, Alexis Olgard had nine kills and Karyn Mockel dished out 18 assists as Mead beat host Ferris (0-7) 25-16, 25-15, 25-8. Meg Ryan added 10 digs and two aces for the Panthers (6-0). … Diana Drury had a match-high 16 kills and Kasey Jurich added 17 digs as University (4-3) defeated host North Central 25-23, 21-25, 25-17, 25-19. Kim Latwesen had 18 digs to lead the Indians (1-6). … Shadle Park (6-1) beat Gonzaga Prep (1-6) 25-17, 25-11, 17-25, 25-21 at G-Prep.

Niina Al-Hassan’s goal off an assist from Anna Albrecht in the 35th minute proved the difference as Pullman (11-1, 9-0) edged West Valley 2-1 in a Great Northern League match at West Valley. Kaley Way opened the scoring with a goal 4 minutes into the match to give the Eagles (9-2, 7-2) a 1-0 advantage, but Cory Druffel responded with a goal in the 25th minute before Al-Hassan’s game-winner. … Elsewhere in the GNL, Stevie Harris’ hat trick powered Deer Park to a 4-1 win over host Clarkston (2-8, 2-7). Kandace Leliefeld added a goal in the 80th minute for the Stags (4-8, 3-6), who held a 20-11 advantage in shots. … Kasey Rubowski, Katie Baran and Amanda Connelly all scored in the first half to lead Lakeside (6-5, 6-3) to a 3-1 win over host Colville (3-7, 2-7).
