Girls soccer

Marissa Mykines scored in the third minute of overtime to give Mead a 2-1 win over East Valley in a Greater Spokane League match Friday at Mead.

The Knights’ Echo Abramson tied the game at 1 with a goal in the 47th minute after Jackie Hakes scored in the 34th minute to give the Panthers (10-1, 6-1) a 1-0 advantage.

Mead dominated, outshooting East Valley (4-4, 3-3) 16-4.

In other Greater Spokane League play, Ally Floyd and Delaney Zalud scored second-half goals to guide Mt. Spokane to a 2-0 shutout of host Lewis and Clark (9-3, 4-2). Callie Bergstom made four saves for the Wildcats (4-3, 4-2) to preserve the shutout. … Allie Burger scored in the first half off an assist from Hilary Ambriz and Ali Fenter added an unassisted goal in the second half as Shadle Park blanked host North Central (0-8, 0-7) 2-0. The Highlanders (6-2, 5-1) held a 20-4 advantage in shots on goal. … Gonzaga Prep scored three goals in the first half and beat Rogers 3-0 at Rogers. Katie Kerr, Sophie Johnson and Chelsea Kerley all tallied goals for the Bullpups (7-1, 5-1), who outshot the Pirates (0-8, 0-7) 20-4.

Volleyball

Chloe Rowand had 11 kills and Hilary Koenigs dished out 15 assists to lead Lewis and Clark to a 25-13, 25-12, 26-28, 25-10 win over Rogers in a Greater Spokane League match at Rogers. Laurie Yearout had four aces and Oceana Bush chipped in eight digs for the Tigers. The Pirates were led by Rochelle Griffith, who had six kills, and Krystal Cogswell, who had nine digs. With the victory, Lewis and Clark improved to 7-1 in the GSL while Rogers dropped to 0-7.
