Girls soccer

Sadie Simon scored twice in each half for Coeur d’Alene as the Vikings beat host Post Falls 6-1 in Inland Empire League action. The Trojans were outshot 16-10. Kara Sires scored the lone goal for Post Falls in the 26th minute. Tareyn White assisted on Sires’ goal. Amanda Wemple recorded seven saves for Coeur d’Alene. The Vikings are undefeated in league play and 3-0-1 overall. Post Falls falls to 0-3-1. … In other IEL action, Brittany Oakley converted an early opportunity and provided the difference for Sandpoint in a 1-0 victory at host Lake City. Bailey Hewitt earned the assist on the goal. With the win, the Bulldogs move to 6-0-0. The Timberwolves outshot Sandpoint 11-8. Kelsey Windju made seven saves for the Bulldogs.

Boys soccer

In Inland Empire League action, Sandpoint came away with a 3-2 victory in a back-and-forth game with visiting Lake City. Alex Crossingham scored on a direct corner kick that slipped through the goalkeeper’s hands in the final minute to beat the Timberwolves. Tyler Powers tied the game twice for Lake City, the first time just seconds before halftime and again on a penalty kick with two minutes remaining in the game. Adam Crossingham converted a corner kick for Sandpoint in the 34th minute and Ben Murray provided a second Sandpoint goal in the 62nd minute. The Bulldogs outshot Lake City 16-6. Zach Moreno made six saves for the Timberwolves. Sandpoint improves to 4-2-0 and Lake City moves to 1-1-0. … In the other IEL contest, Jordan Correia scored three goals and Forest Walker added two of his own as Coeur d’Alene blanked visiting Post Falls 6-0. The Vikings outshot the Trojans 18-7 en route to their sixth win of the season. Drew Harden scored the other goal for the Vikings. Four different players recorded assists for Coeur d’Alene. The Vikings improve to 6-0-0 and Post Falls drops to 1-1-0.

Volleyball

Coeur d’Alene topped host Lakeland 25-11, 25-17, 25-22 in an Inland Empire League match. Hanna Johnson had 10 kills and 16 digs for the Vikings. Natalie Stewart added 24 assists. For the Hawks, Jamie Quillin had 10 digs and Kristyn App recorded eight blocks. Coeur d’Alene is now 1-0 in league and Lakeland is 0-1. … In other IEL action, Moscow defeated host Lewiston 25-12, 25-22, 25-17. Maddie Bolny had 13 assists, five aces and two blocks for the Bears. Bridgette Lowe added nine digs. Chelsea Holley earned 15 digs and Rachel Fike had 12 assists for the Bengals. Moscow moves to 1-1 in league with the win and Lewiston falls to 1-2. … Lake City swept visiting Post Falls 25-13, 25-23, 25-15. Sam Georgius had 26 assists and four aces for the Timberwolves. Ashley Kelley contributed 10 kills and three blocks for Lake City. For Post Falls, Angela Barr had five kills and three blocks and Amanda Jibby added four digs. The Timberwolves move to 2-0 in league and Post Falls is 0-2.
