Dinner to benefit Wishing Star

Join Wishing Star Foundation for an “Evening with the Stars” on Sept. 29 for the second annual Dishes for Wishes benefit dinner.

The dinner and live auction will take place in the Skyline Ballroom at the Red Lion Hotel at the Park, 303 W. North River Drive at 5:30 p.m.

Local artists Debbie Mumm, Mike Perry and Zak Designs have made this year’s one-of-a-kind dishes, and local teams and celebrities have autographed and donated packages to the live auction. Items available in the auction include dishes signed by the 2007-08 Gonzaga men’s basketball team, a practice and social and tickets to a game; dishes signed by the Spokane Shock and practice and lunch with the team; and a unique dish made by artist Tym Matez and autographed by John Travolta.

Tickets are $60 and all proceeds benefit Wishing Star Foundation.

BMW Ultimate Drive

Drive for the cure on Tuesday at the 11th annual BMW Ultimate Drive to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Nineteen titanium silver BMWs will be decorated with pink modernist maps and will be available for test drives.

The event will take place at Camp BMW, 215 E. Montgomery Ave., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The foundation will receive a $1 donation for each mile driven. The Ultimate Drive is traveling throughout the United States.

Children’s Village Benefit Concert

On Thursday, Spokane Teachers Credit Union and Elite Condo Storage LLC will host Brian Crain in concert at Boswell Hall at North Idaho College.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and also features Nonini Strings-Suzuki Strings of North Idaho and the Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy Choir.

Tickets are $20 and benefit the Children’s Village Foundation.
