Boys soccer
Daniel Anderson scored in each half to give the Sandpoint Bulldogs a 3-0 Inland Empire League victory over the visiting Lewiston Bengals. Alex Crossingham added the final tally for Sandpoint (7-4-2, 5-1-1) with an unassisted goal in the 56th minute.
In other IEL action, the Coeur d’Alene Vikings used a four-goal barrage in the second half to beat the visiting Moscow Bears. Jalon Eborall scored first for Coeur d’Alene in the 48th minute and Jason Vetsch finished the scoring with a goal in the 65th minute. Robby Astin and Forrest Walker earned the other two goals for the undefeated Vikings (10-0-2, 6-0-2).
Girls soccer
Coeur d’Alene picked up a goal in each half to beat host Moscow 2-0 in an Inland Empire League match. Marissa Poorboy put the Vikings on the board in the 28th minute. Jessica Duran earned the assist. Jaylee Nowoj sealed the game in the opening minutes of the second half with Coeur d’Alene’s second goal.
In other IEL action, the Sandpoint Bulldogs earned two quick goals after halftime to beat the host Lewiston Bengals 3-0. Bailey Hewitt opened the scoring for Sandpoint (8-5-1, 6-2-0) in the 12th minute on an assist from Brittany Clawson. Clawson added another goal two minutes into the second half and Brittany Oakley scored the final goal two minutes later.
Volleyball
The Moscow Bears defeated host Lakeland 25-13, 25-18, 25-22 in an Inland Empire League match. Maddie Dolny led the Bears (4-2) with 16 assists and Colleen Lopez added eight kills.
Kellogg defeated Kamiah in two sets to win the championship of the Rosalia Spikefest. …In other tournament action, Priest River beat Sandpoint JV, Coeur d’Alene JV, Wallace and split with Orofino in the Bonners Ferry Round Robin Tournament.
Cross Country
Central Valley placed 11th in the girls elite division at the Bob Firman Invitational at Eagle Island State Park in Boise with 257 points. Eden Lake (19:35.97) finished 29th and Madi Barnes (19:40.84) placed 32nd for Central Valley.
North Central finished second in the boys elite division with 124 points. Andrew Kimpel (15:58.18) placed sixth for North Central.
In other cross country action, Mt. Spokane won the boys division of the Mountain West Classic at Missoula with a total of 141 points. Lewis and Clark (143) finished second.
Mt. Spokane’s Allan Schroeder (15:25) finished third overall.
In the girls division, Mead (184) finished fourth overall, followed by Lewis and Clark (259) in fifth place. The Panthers’ Baylee Mires (17:54) finished third.
