Red Sox 5, Twins 2: At Boston, Daisuke Matsuzaka won for just the second time since early August and the Red Sox beat Minnesota and clinched the East Division later when the Yankees lost to the Orioles.

Orioles 10, Yankees 9 (10): At Baltimore, Melvin Mora bunted home the winning run in the 10th inning off of Mariano Rivera, officially ending New York’s run of nine straight East Division titles. Alex Rodriguez hit his 54th home run for the Yankees.

Indians 5, Royals 3: At Kansas City, Mo., C.C. Sabathia picked up his 100th career victory and Cleveland wrapped up home-field advantage for the first round of the playoffs, beating the Royals.

Blue Jays 5, Devil Rays 4: At Toronto, Adam Lind hit a two-run homer, Matt Stairs added a solo shot and the Blue Jays beat Tampa Bay. Carlos Pena hit his 45th home run and Jorge Velandia had a two-run homer for Tampa Bay.

White Sox 5, Tigers 2: At Chicago, Paul Konerko hit a three-run home run and Jim Thome hit his 506th career homer to lead the White Sox to a win over Detroit.

Angels 2, Athletics 0: At Oakland, Calif., John Lackey took over the American League lead in earned-run average, Vladimir Guerrero homered and Los Angeles beat the Athletics.
