Sophomore Ben Fisher threw a no-hitter that included 11 strikeouts as Sandpoint downed host Coeur d’Alene 4-0 in an Inland Empire League game on Tuesday. Fisher lost his bid at perfection (6-11, 4-7) when he committed the game’s lone error on a bad throw to first base. Kyle Gibson hit his first home run of the season for Sandpoint (7-7, 4-5), Joel Cramer had two RBIs and Jake Semones added two doubles and an RBI. … Elsewhere, Lewiston (15-0) earned a pair of decisive victories over visiting Post Falls (4-10, 3-6). Taylor Forge had three hits, including a double and a triple, and Tim Kerr hit a home run to lead Lewiston past PF 11-1 in the first game. Beau Balmer collected four hits in the second game, including a triple, and Lewiston won 13-3.

Brian Nelson had 18 strikeouts and allowed two runs as Priest River (4-3, 4-2) defeated host Timberlake (4-7, 3-3) 4-2 in Intermountain League action. PR scored all four of its runs in the sixth inning when Josh Reed notched two RBIs and John Butter and Brian Nelson each had one. … The game between Bonners Ferry and Kellogg was postponed because of snow and no makeup date has been announced.

Softball

Rachel Meagley had 10 strikeouts in a complete-game two-hitter as West Valley (9-6, 8-2) blanked host Deer Park (0-9, 0-11) 8-0 in the first game of a Great Northern League doubleheader. Meagley pitched four innings in the second game, allowed no runs and struck out seven and West Valley shut out Deer Park 11-0. Chelsea Bowman was 3 for 4 with a run and two RBIs.

“Lake City (12-3, 8-1) scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning to outlast host Lakeland (8-9, 3-7) 6-3 in an Inland Empire League game. Lela Work collected two hits and two RBIs and Alyana Watson added three hits for Lake City. … Elsewhere, Post Falls (10-3, 6-1) beat Lewiston (10-7, 5-7) in both games of a doubleheader. Blake Meredith pitched a five-hit shutout and had two hits to lead PF past Lewiston 5-0 in the first game. In the second game, Lauran Nagrone had a double and Richelle Ashburn allowed three hits as the Trojans beat the Bengals 5-2.

Lauren Stewart threw a no-hitter that included 10 strikeouts as host Kellogg (11-4, 7-4) downed Bonners Ferry (1-4, 0-4) 26-0. Stephanie Squires was 4 for 4 with four RBIs. … Halee Edelblute hit a three-run home run in the second inning as host Timberlake (9-6, 7-0) blew past Priest River (0-11, 0-7) 16-4.

Soccer

Medical Lake (6-6, 6-6) needed two overtimes and a shootout to edge visiting Clarkston (1-12, 1-10) 2-1 in Great Northern League action. ML’s Brandon Robo tied the game on a pass from Petra Lee with about 15 minutes remaining in regulation, but neither team managed a goal in extra time. Goalkeeper Jon Melvin allowed two goals in the shootout, won by the Cardinals 5-3. … Elsewhere, Amr Alamri and David Sharratt each had a goal and an assist to lead undefeated Pullman to a 2-0 win over host Lakeside (9-5, 7-5). Luke Nofsinger recorded the shutout as Pullman extended its winning streak to 12, including a 10-game surge in league play. … Trevor Dornquast scored a goal and had two assists to lead Riverside (6-6, 6-4) past visiting Colville (0-11, 0-11) 6-2. Dustin Thomas had a pair of goals for Colville. … The match between Deer Park and Chewelah was postponed until April 30 because of scheduling conflicts.
