Amr Alamri scored two goals – one in each half – and the Pullman Greyhounds turned in a 3-1 victory over the Lakeside Eagles in Great Northern League play in Pullman. Alamri’s first goal came at the 27-minute mark. Four minutes later, teammate Ethan Sharratt found the net to put Pullman (13-1, 11-1) up 2-0. Casey Duclos scored with 3 minutes left in the first half to pull Lakeside (9-6, 7-6) within a goal. Alamri’s second tally came in the 68th minute and wrapped up the win. … In another GNL match, Tyler Bland had an unassisted goal and added an assist to propel the Riverside Rams (8-6, 8-4) to a 3-1 win over the visiting Chewelah Cougars (1-12, 11-2).
Softball
The Coeur d’Alene Vikings rolled to a 4-0, 7-3 doubleheader sweep of the Post Falls Trojans (11-5, 7-3) in Inland Empire League play in Post Falls.
Amber Coburn tossed a complete-game four-hit shutout and struck out nine to lead the Vikings (15-5, 11-3) to victory in the opener. In the second game, Lindsey Ritzheimer belted a first-inning grand slam to spark CdA.
Elsewhere, the Lakeland Hawks (10-10, 5-8) cruised to a 12-2, 20-2 doubleheader sweep of the visiting Sandpoint Bulldogs (1-20, 0-12) at Rathdrum. Chelsea Campbell had four RBIs and Jamie Klopatek struck out 11 to lead the Hawks in the first game. In the nightcap, Erin O’Hara homered and drove in five runs and Alyana Watson plated four runs with a pair of doubles to pace Lakeland.
Baseball
The Bonners Ferry Badgers (9-4, 4-2) and Timberlake Tigers (6-8, 4-4) split an Intermountain League doubleheader at Bonners Ferry. Josh Eastin had two hits and two RBIs in the seventh inning as the Tigers scored nine times to rally for an 11-8 win in the opener. Timberlake’s Connor Herdt hit for the cycle. In the second game, Jake Watt went 3 for 3 and drove in three runs to lead the Badgers to a 13-3 six-inning win.
