Angels 11, Yankees 4: At Anaheim, Calif., Vladimir Guerrero triggered an eight-run eighth inning with a go-ahead home run, leading the West leaders to a rout of sputtering New York. The Angels, who began the day 13 games ahead of Texas in the division, also got solo homers from Mark Teixeira, Garret Anderson and Mike Napoli to erase a 2-0 deficit.

Indians 4, Blue Jays 2: At Toronto, Paul Byrd pitched a six-hitter to win his fourth consecutive start and Ryan Garko drove in two runs in Cleveland’s victory over the Blue Jays. The Indians took advantage of a shaky start by Toronto right-hander Roy Halladay, who has lost three of five.

Tigers 10, Athletics 2: At Detroit, Miguel Cabrera homered twice and drove in four runs, lifting the Tigers to a win over Oakland. Gary Sheffield and Edgar Renteria also homered for Detroit.

Red Sox 6, White Sox 2: At Chicago, pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka threw his longest outing of the season and David Ortiz hit a three-run double to help Boston beat the White Sox. Jacoby Ellsbury hit his seventh homer of the season in the eighth inning, and Jason Bay and Dustin Pedroia also drove in runs for the Red Sox.

Orioles 9, Rangers 0: At Baltimore, Daniel Cabrera stymied Texas for six innings and the Orioles got a homer and four RBIs from Melvin Mora in a victory over the Rangers. Nick Markakis hit a three-run homer, and Brian Roberts scored three runs for Baltimore.

Twins 7, Royals 3: At Kansas City, Mo., Francisco Liriano pitched his second straight gem since being recalled from the minors, Delmon Young hit a two-run homer and Minnesota got the victory over the Royals.
