Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture - “Dabblers, Divers, Murderers, Travelers: Birds of the Inland Northwest,” dozens of bird specimens gathered by hunters and bird club members, carefully mounted and preserved, emerge from museum storage for an exhibit that connects early explorers’ descriptions, Native American stories and ornithologists’ methods of identifying birds and their songs; “Quiltscapes,” dozens of quilts from the MAC collection; ; “George Longfish: A Retrospective,” works by one of the most influential of the first generation of nontraditional American Indian artists, addressing topical and sometimes tough and challenging contemporary issues facing Native Americans today; “Spokane Timeline: Personal Voices,” an ongoing exhibit of items related to Spokane’s history with periodic artifact changes; “River Pigs and Timber Beasts,” explores multiple facets of the logging industry, including log brands, caulk boots, mess tent dishes and crosscut saws; “Living Legacy: the American Indian Collection,” all of the Manning American Indian Collection acquired in 1916, the founding collection of the MAC.; Campbell House Holidays: Saturday through Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., historic Kirtland Cutter home is dressed up in traditional Victorian fashion for the holidays, visitors tour on their own, listening to local music students play the Campbell House piano (times vary), watching historic cooking demonstrations in the kitchen and more (regular interactive tours today and Friday, every hour on the hour between 1-4 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays, every half hour between 12:30-3:30 p.m.); “Toys!
