Brandon Johnson had 16 points and San Diego scored the first 14 points en route to a win over Portland at San Diego. Luke Sikma scored 17 points for Portland, which has lost five of six games. Jared Stohl finished with 14 points. The Toreros hit six of their first nine shots, including all three of their 3-point attempts, to jump ahead 14-0 nearly five minutes into the game. Rob Jones scored eight of San Diego’s first 11 points and Johnson hit a pair of 3-pointers. … Patrick Mills scored 22 points, including four 3-pointers, and added four assists to lead Saint Mary’s to a rout of Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles. Diamon Simpson added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Gaels. Orlando Johnson paced the Lions with 14 points and six rebounds and Tim Diederichs added five points for Loyola, which made just 14 of 54 field goal attempts. Saint Mary’s outrebounded the Lions 42-27. … Rico Tucker scored 19 points, Malcolm Thomas had 11 points and eight rebounds, and Pepperdine held off a late surge by Santa Clara to get the victory at Malibu, Calif. Mitch Henke scored 12 points for the Broncos.

C.J. Webster scored 17 points as the San Jose State Spartans snapped a three-game losing streak by defeating the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in San Jose, Calif. Kyle Gibson finished the game with 25 points and teammate Jonathan Clark added 16 points for Louisiana Tech. … Reggie Larry scored 25 points and Mark Sanchez came off the bench to get seven crucial points in a little more than a minute in the second half to help Boise State to a win over Fresno State in Boise. The Bulldogs were led by Kevin Bell with 21 points and Eddie Miller with 16.
