Parker sets record in Vols’ win

Candace Parker scored 19 points and set a new Tennessee record for blocks as the No. 3 Lady Vols overcame a slow start to beat Mississippi State 72-46 on Sunday in Knoxville, Tenn.

Alexis Rack led Mississippi State (16-12, 4-9 Southeastern Conference) with 15 points.

Parker blocked five shots to set a new Tennessee (25-2, 11-1) career record with 247, surpassing Shelia Frost’s total of 246.

(4) Maryland 92, Florida St. 84 (OT): Kristi Toliver scored eight of her 24 points in overtime and the Terrapins (28-2, 12-1 ACC) rallied to beat the Seminoles (16-11, 6-6) in College Park, Md., to finish 19-0 at home.

(10) Old Dominion 66, Drexel 51: Tiffany Green scored 12 points to lead the Lady Monarchs (24-3, 15-0 Colonial Athletic Association) to their 18th straight win with a victory over the Dragons (15-11, 10-5) in Norfolk, Va.

Arizona State 69, Washington 53: Lauren Lacey scored 14 of her 25 points in the first half and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Sun Devils (18-9, 12-4 Pacific-10 Conference) past the Huskies (12-16, 7-9) in Tempe, Ariz in a matchup of two Lewis and Clark High graduates.

Katelan Redmon scored 12 for the Huskies, while Briann January had 12 points and four assists for Arizona State.
