Wellpinit 60, Reardan 54

The Redskins used a couple of late runs to pull away from the Indians despite being outrebounded by a wide margin and a game-high 25 points from Mike Matson.

With 5:34 remaining in the third, Wellpinit’s Cody Stensgar sank a basket to begin a 10-2 run. The streak gave the Redskins momentum, and they opened the final quarter with another spurt, 11-3.

But Wellpinit struggled with rebounding, and Reardan controlled the glass and grabbed 35 rebounds to Wellpinit’s 18.

Matson shot 71 percent from the field en route to his 25 points, but Reardan could not overcome Stensgar, TJ Flett, Cody Flett and Cheyenne Swift, who combined to score all but two of Wellpinit’s 60 points.
