Hints from Heloise

The Spokesman-Review

Dear Heloise: Whenever I find a great recipe in a magazine, I tear out the entire page and cover it in adhesive-backed plastic. Then I store these in the filing cabinet. When I need to use one, I only have to look for one sheet. Then I put it above the stove or on an upper kitchen cabinet so it’s at eye level with me. This saves counter space, and the recipe is guarded against splatters because of the plastic. Also, I don’t have to save the entire magazine just for one recipe. – Michelle P., Hagerstown, Md.

And here’s another recipe hint, from Natalie of Texas. She says: “I often lose my place on recipe cards in the middle of cooking. So, I highlight every other line with a bright-yellow, green or pink highlighter. This has really cut my cooking time in half.” Heloise
