The Slice

The Spokesman-Review

So OK, we’re not supposed to feed the ducks at Manito or Riverfront parks anymore.

That makes sense. They are wild animals, after all.

But now what?

Well, there are plenty of other activities that can entertain children in Spokane.

1. Ride around on several STA bus routes. Let the kids pull the cord when it’s time for your stop. Teach them to say “Thank you” to the driver.

2. Show the children how to yard-sale. Repeat after me, “This all seems a bit spendy. Will you take a quarter for that Spokane Canaries jersey?”

3. Check out the Waste to Energy facility. Call (509) 625-6580 to find out about tours.

But I’m sure you have your own ideas. What are you going to do to replace fowl feeding as a family activity?
