Northern Colorado was missing three key players – seniors Kirk Archibeque and Sean Taibi (both injured) and freshman forward Neal Kingman (flu) – in Wednesday’s 62-56 road win over San Diego State, but could have Taibi and Kingman back for tonight’s game at Eastern Washington. UNC’s freshman guard Devon Beitzel scored 15 points against SDSU and became the Bears’ first player to earn Big Sky player-of-the-week honors. … Kellen Williams, a 6-foot-4 forward, has led EWU in rebounding in 18 of 19 games this winter. … The home team has won 14 of the 18 Big Sky games this year. … Weber State topped Portland State last Thursday by the same 73-68 score that the Wildcats’ football team beat the Vikings last October in what turned out to be the highest-scoring NCAA Division I regulation football game in history.
