Documentary at NIC

North Idaho College’s Outdoor Pursuits program will present the film “Ayamye,” about how humanity can help solve some of the world’s crises, at 7 p.m. tonight in NIC’s Meyer Health and Sciences Building, Room 106.

“Ayamye” is a documentary by Eric Matties and Tricia Todd about a group of volunteers with Bikes Not Bombs who donate used bikes and parts to a rural village in Ghana, West Africa.

The film chronicles the West Africans whose education, health and community are improved by gaining this mode of transportation. The film also focuses on a central theme, which is how sustainable solutions to world problems are not always complex.

The showing at NIC is co-sponsored by Doma Coffee Roasting Co., the Palouse Clearwater Environmental Institute and Vertical Earth. It is free and open to the public.
