Riverside, Lakeside capture Dream Duals titles
Riverside and Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) earned team titles at the Dream Duals on Saturday at East Valley High School.
Riverside won the 2A battle by crushing runner-up Tumwater 49-9.
Tanner Spackman (103 pounds), Ryan Major (119), Justin Hodge (125), Ryan DesRoches (171) and Matt Conklin (285) all notched pins to lead the way for Riverside.
Lakeside grabbed the 1A title by knocking off runner-up Royal 48-26.
Mike Baumgarden started Lakeside off and running with a 34-second pin in the 103-pound division.
Teammates Jacob Lauderdale (119), Josh Lauderdale (125), Tyler Labelle (135), Kyle Johnson (140), Wes McAdam (171) and Reid Chivers (189) also pinned their opponents.
Enumclaw won the 3A classification. Kelso was second and host East Valley finished third.
Lake Stevens finished first in the 4A class.
Moses Lake was second, followed by Central Valley, Rogers and Pasco.
Mt. Baker won the girls division.
•Casey George, Tracey Huffman, Dalton Skelton and Mike Kirk won individual titles to guide Lewiston to the team title at the Clearwater Classic at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston.
George (103), Huffman (125), Skelton (140) and Kirk (285) earned first-place finishes and helped Lewiston pile up 230 points – 23 ahead of runner-up Caldwell.
Clarkston (181.5) was third, followed by Post Falls (143).
Other local individual winners were: Newport’s Daniel Swain (130), Gonzaga Prep’s Kevin Healy (135) and Post Falls’ Ryan Booth (152).
