Oregon State’s decision to fire coach Jay Johns on Monday marks the first time a Pac-10 coach has been relieved in midseason since USC’s Henry Bibby was replaced by Jim Saia after four games in 2004. … OSU interim coach Kevin Mouton dismissed Kansas transfer C.J. Giles from the team. … Though Washington State is 16-1, ranked sixth in the nation and tied atop the conference standings, no Cougar has been the Pac-10 player of the week. … Oregon has defeated UCLA four of the last six times at Mac Court. … Cal’s 6-foot-10 sophomore Ryan Anderson has connected on 32 of his last 62 3-point attempts. … Arizona State is 14-3 for the first time since 1980-81.
