GSL boys showdown tonight
Nearly every league is facing its final three or four regular-season games the next couple of weeks and district competition is on the horizon.
Tonight’s lead-in is a potential dandy, pitting Greater Spokane League boys leader Ferris (15-0) and Shadle Park (14-1). The game will be at 7:30 p.m. at Spokane Falls Community College to accommodate a larger crowd.
When they first played Dec. 11 – at Ferris before DeAngelo Casto became eligible for the Saxons and Shadle’s Zack Humphrey was healthy – the Highlanders trailed by as many as 12 points in the third quarter before leading by a point in the fourth quarter of a 71-66 loss. Shadle’s guards accounted for 50 points.
On Saturday, a game of interest has University’s girls (10-4) at Mead (12-2).
