NIC students receive scholarships from Garden Club

Two North Idaho College students were recently awarded scholarships through the Coeur d’Alene Garden Club.

NIC student Rose Duncan, a botany major from St. Maries, received the Coeur d’Alene Garden Club Scholarship for $500. The award is given to a student seeking a degree in landscaping, horticulture or other related fields annually.

Student Grey Beaudry, an art student from Hayden, was awarded the Coeur d’Alene Garden Club Scholarship – Stephen Shortridge Award for $500. This award was named in honor of acclaimed local artist Shortridge, whose painting “My Backyard” was used for the 2007 Coeur d’Alene Garden Tour poster.
