The Cheney Police Department responded to the following calls during the week of March 14-20:

March 14

•Second-degree theft at the 2300 block of University Lane. A bike and a wallet were reported stolen.

•Second-degree theft at the 1000 block of Second. A cell phone was reported stolen.

•A red bike was found at the 2200 block of First.

•Peter W. Feiss, 21, was arrested at the 000 block of West Second for allegedly possessing drug paraphernalia.

•Zachary J. Thomas, 19, was arrested for driving under the influence at the 600 block of Simpson Parkway.

March 15

•Malicious mischief in the third degree at the 800 block of Salnave. Troy D. Brigham, 22, allegedly damaged a house he was trying to get into. The house reportedly belonged to a friend.

•A hit-and-run was reported at the 100 block of West Sixth.

March 16

•Malicious mischief in the third degree was reported at the 300 block of West First Street. Karl B. Baumgartner, 21, allegedly punched a window of a business.

•An alcohol offense by a minor was reported at the 1000 block of Second Street. Zachary A. Bowen, 20, was charged with a minor in possession of alcohol.

•There was a malicious mischief charge stemming from a driving under the influence arrest made at First and H streets.

Monty R. Ford, 22, was arrested on suspicion of a DUI. He later allegedly broke the breathalyzer machine at the police station and allegedly damaged the building.

He was charged with malicious mischief in the second degree for the breathalyzer, malicious mischief in the third degree for the damage to the building, drinking under the influence and resisting arrest.

“He went from a misdemeanor to a felony,” said police Cmdr. Rick Campbell.

•An assault in the fourth degree was reported at the 100 block of North Ninth.

•A domestic violence incident was reported at the 100 block of West Second. The case has been forwarded to the city prosecutor’s office for review.

March 17

•A car stero was found at the 200 block of the Simpson Parkway.

•An 11-year-old boy was arrested for possession of a controlled substance at Cheney Middle School.

•A verbal domestic violence dispute was reported at the 3000 block of Meadow Glen.

March 18

•Scott A. Spears, 21, was arrested under the suspicion of driving under the influence at the 700 block of “B” Street.

•A domestic violence dispute was reported at the 1900 block of First Street. One of the participants is suspected of taking a motor vehicle, and the case has been forwarded to the city prosecutor’s office for review.

March 19

•A peeping tom was spotted at the 200 block of “K” Street.

•Samuel J. Baer, 19, was arrested for allegedly driving with a suspended license in the third degree at the 1500 block of First Street.

March 20

•Vince C. Calabres, 22, was arrested for allegedly driving with a suspended license in the third degree at the 1500 block of First Street.

•Officers responded to a call of theft in the second degree on the 800 block of First Street. A digital camera was reported stolen.

•Cheney police officers performed a court commitment – the defendant of a trial was put into custody. Nathan R. Tronrud, 30, was transported to jail.

•There was a report of identification theft at the 00 block of North Sixth Street.
